The Airdrie Techmation Thunder have moved into second place in the North Division of the Heritage Junior Hockey League (HJHL) after a pair of important wins this weekend.
The Thunder hosted the Rocky Rams on Friday night in a game that would go to overtime before being decided, despite being dominated by Airdrie who outshot the Rams 50 - 22.
The Rams scored the only goal of the first before Aiden Moore and Reed Chalmers would connect for the Thunder for a 2 - 1 lead. Before the second period was over, the Rams would score two more for a 3 - 2 lead heading for the third. With under four minutes to go Jeremy Jobin would knot the game at three and send it to overtime where it took just 47 seconds for Jacob Cathcart to send the Airdrie fans home happy.
