The Cubs have have had a good thing going against the Wheatland Kings.

Logan Leroux kept it going in the playoff opener.

Leroux kicked out all 26 shots that came his way as Medicine Hat blanked Medicine hat for its ninth straight win against the Kings.

Levi Schlosser scored in the second period of the tightly contested outing before Mason Fischer and Mackenzie Fritzier connected in a 22-second span late in the third period to break the game open.

Brett Willan had a stellar outing of his own between the pipes for Strathmore turning aside 45 of 48 shots.

Copperheads 5, Flyers 2

It takes a balanced attack to win in the playoffs.

The Copperheads did exactly that in Game 1.

Five different scorers lit the lamp as Coaldale took Game 1 of its series with High River.

Jayden Bexte had a goal and an assist while Clayton Nevil, Tyler Anderson, James Halverson and Tyler Strath also scored.

Jakob Jefferies scored both goals for the Flyers.
