Cubs 5, Wheatland Kings 4

Noah Irvine's second goal of the night, during a third period powerplay, stood up as the game winner as the Cubs completed a weekend sweep of the Wheatland Kings.

Mason Fischer had a goal and two assists for Medicine Hat, which skated to a 5-3 win in Strathmore on Saturday night.

Ethan Machan and Joshua Schafer also found the net for the Cubs (23-9-2), who moved to within two points of second-place Cochrane.

Jayden Hendricks drove Strathmore's offence with a goal and two helpers.

Kyle Feick, Will Kathol and Wacy Sandum also scored for the Wheatland Kings (11-23-0).

Medicine Hat hosts Coaldale while Strathmore visits Okotoks on Friday.

Copperheads 4, Lightning 3

Jayden Bexte scored the game winner on a powerplay with 25 seconds left in regulation time to give the Copperheads the victory.

Mason Sande scored twice and Tyler Anderson also lit the lamp for Coaldale (23-12-1).

Erik Rost potted a pair and Matt Sylvester chipped in with a single for the Bolts (11-20-3).

The Lightning visit Sylvan Lake on Tuesday.

Coaldale travels to Medicine Hat on Friday.
