HJHL All-Stars: By the numbers

HJHL All-Stars: By the numbers

Scott Fisher

The HJHL's best and brightest are ready to strut their stuff in Medicine Hat.

The junior circuit's all-star game goes Sunday afternoon at the Kinplex (4 p.m.).

Led by league-leading scorer Ty Scott (33 goals, 68 points), the South Division All-Stars have combined for 187 goals and 461 points coming out of the Christmas break.

Scott's Okotoks Bisons lineman Tyler Alger leads the HJHL with 37 assists and sits second in points with 50.

The North Division squad has piled up 171 goals and 374 points in the first half of the season.

Mountainview Colts sniper Josh Gette leads the way with 25 goals while Airdrie Thunder veteran Tristan Paquette is tops in points with 45.

South Division all-stars averaged 1.04 points per game while the North Division all-stars 0.96 points per game.

The North's defence has a small edge in goals, scoring 23 to the South's 19. But the South has a combined 86 points, compared to 75 for the South.

Devin Anderson paces the North blueline with eight goals and 16 points while Jordan Marks (Cochrane Generals, 21 points) has one more point than Okotoks' Mitch Wolfe.

The South team also has piled up more minutes in the sin bin (751 to 559 PIMS), thanks to the only two players in the game who have spent triple-digit minutes in the penalty box, Brennan McPherson (High River, 116) and Brandon Aab (Cochrane, 115).

It would be nearly impossible for the South not to have an edge in the goaltending numbers.

Bisons 'tender Devin Reagan is (STILL!) perfect with a 24-0-0 record.

Reagan and Cochrane's Erik Garber are a combined 36-10-0 with a 2.38 goals-against average and .924 save percentage.

Red Deer's Dawson Weatherill and Airdrie's Jackson Little have a combined 17-6-0 record, 3.36 GAA and .907 Sv%.

For fans unable to travel to Medicine Hat, the game will be shown live on hnlive.ca.
