HJHL announces North Division Prospects team

Fans aren't the only ones looking forward to HJHL All-Star weekend.

There should be plenty of clipboard-carrying scouts in attendance at the Jan. 5 All-Star Game and Top Prospects Game at the Medicine Hat Kinplex.

Medicine Hat Cubs GM Dave Kowalchuk expects to see scouts from junior leagues across Western Canada and from schools south of the border as well.

"I scout for the SJHL's La Ronge Ice Wolves," Kowalchuk says. "And we have lots of contacts in the Junior A ranks.

"So we'll be letting the teams in the BCHL, MJHL, AJHL and SJHL know so they can get their scouts out to the game, especially the Top Prospects Game. The whole idea is to showcase our whole league.

"We have contacts from the U.S. universities and colleges, so we'll send out a bunch of invites and give them a chance to check out our league and our talent."
