HJHL announces South Division Prospects team

The Prospects Game has become a well-known part of the NHL All-Star Weekend.

So the HJHL has decided to follow suit.

The HJHL will host, for the first time, an annual showcase of its shining stars.

And with many former HJHL standouts landing major college scholarships north and south of the border, why not now?

Medicine Hat general manager Dave Kowalchuk was instrumental in building the league's inaugural game for the league's young talent.

"We've never really embarked on something like this before," Kowalchuk says. "But I've thought, over the last few years, we've had a lot of good young players in our league.

"So I think, a Young Prospects Game that would feature someone like Jake Snashall (High River Flyers), who has been called up to Junior A a few times this year, or Cooper Hilworth, who has been solid last year and this year with our team, there's some pretty good players on that team."

With the support, and and hard work, of HJHL president Gilbert Renaud and vice-president John Lockhart, the Top Prospects Game beam a reality.

Here is the South Division Prospects Game roster. Visit the HJHL website in the coming days as we reveal the North Division roster.
