HJHL announces North Division All-Star team

Medicine Hat hockey fans have been flocking to the Kinplex all season.

There's no reason to expect anything different when the newly renovated rink hosts the HJHL Top Prospects Game (1 p.m.) and All-Star Game (4 p.m.) on Jan. 5.

Medicine Hat Cubs general manager Dave Kowalchuk says fans seem to like the new-look rink.

"The city did a great job," Kowalchuk says. "There's new glass, new boards. The players benches have been moves, the penalty box is on the fans' side now. Visiting teams have their own entrance and their own area away from all the hustle and bustle.

"It's really bright in there and fans really enjoy coming to the games. It's a great experience. 

"The crowds have been great in Medicine Hat so we're hoping we'll have a good crowd for the All-Star Game."
