HJHL announces South Division All-Star team

The HJHL's top talent will put on a show in Medicine Hat.

Cubs general manager Dave Kowalchuk can't wait for the North and South Division All-Star teams to take the ice on Jan. 5 at the Kinplex.

"We're hosting the All-Star Game (4 p.m.) and the Top Prospects Game (1 p.m.), plus the provincials," Kowalchuk says. "So it's a busy year.

"But I think people will be impressed with the talent on both teams.

"The last two all-star games went to shootouts, so we're expecting two good games."

Kowalchuk expects ticket packages to be announced shortly.

Kelly Bryksa (Davis Custom Graphics) created the new popular Cubs logo during the off-season, so when the HJHL squad needed an all-star logo, they knew who to turn to.

"I actually graduated with him back in '98," Kowalchuk says. "He really worked hard and did an amazing job on both logos."
