Thunder 6, Lightning 3
Brayden Dunn finally got the monkey off his back.
Dunn scored and had a pair of assists as the Airdrie Techmation Thunder doubled up the Stettler Lightning 6-3.
"That was my first goal since my first game (of the season)," Dunn said. "And I've probably had 50 shots since then.
"I just haven't been able to find the back of the net."
Mathew MacDonald scored his first of the season while Tristan Paquette, Kyle Bracko, Jonathan Lake and Kirkland Spencer also lit the lamp for Airdrie.
Spencer's powerplay goal early in the third period broke open a 3-3 game.
"We talked during the second intermission and said 'let's wake up a little bit and play our game,'" Dunn said.
"We came out in the third, scored three and got the two points."
