Bisons 5, Lightning 2

Eight is not enough.

At least, not for the Okotoks Bisons.

Tyson Scott scored twice and added an assist as the Bisons beat the Stettler Lightning 5-2.

Okotoks is the lone remaining HJHL squad with a perfect record (8-0-0).

Tyler Witzke scored and also had a trio of helpers for Okotoks.

Michael Bentz and Brennan Schwark also found the back of the net for the Bisons, who outshot the Lightning 62-23.

Brenden Tucker and The Mulgrove replied for Stettler, which got a 57-save performance from Indiana Kelly.

Stettler visits the Ponoka Stampeders on Wednesday (7:30 p.m.) while Okotoks travels to Sylvan Lake on Friday (7:30 p.m.).

Stampeders 4, Vipers 2

The Ponoka Stampeders suffered their first loss of the season — 5-4 in OT to the Mountainview Colts — on Saturday.

They clearly didn't like the taste of defeat as they got back on track on Sunday.

Carson Bear potted a pair of goals and added two assists as the Stamps improved to 4-0-1.

Devin Anderson and Bailey Nesbitt chipped in with a goal and an assist each for Ponoka, which hosts Stettler on Wednesday.

Jacksyn Goodall and Keaton Sawicki replied for the Vipers, who are off until Oct. 25 when they visit Okotoks.
