Walking into a hornet's nest? That's nothing new for the Coaldale Copperheads.

The Snake Pit is one of the most intimidating places to play in the HJHL.

But they used that atmosphere to their advantage on Sunday to emerge with a 5-1 victory in Medicine Hat.

Brandyn Howg scored a pair of goals as the Copperheads blasted through a tough home-opening crowd in the Gas City.

Isaac Benoit had a goal and two helpers as the Snakes improved to 3-2-0 on the season.

Mason Sande and Jayden Bexte, who kept his five-game points streak alive, also scored for the visitors.

Fletcher Aleman replied for the Cubs, (2-2-0), who will look to get back on track on Saturday when they visit the Cochrane Generals.

Wranglers 5, Rams 1

The Wranglers spread it around on Sunday at it worked out just fine.

Zane Bennett, Brett Westin, Austin Kalev and Braidon Westin and Dylan Scheunert lit the lamp as Sylan Lake (2-4-0) earned its second win of the season.
