AIRDRIE – Travis Gerrard scored twice, including the game-winner 1:22 into the second overtime as the Mountainview Colts came away with a 3-2 victory over the Airdrie Thunder, giving them a 2-1 lead in their best-of-seven North Division Final series.
Ethan Woodward was sensational between the pipes, finishing with 45 saves on the night, including 23 over the third period and overtime.
Gerrard’s first goal came with 9:02 left in the third period to pull the Colts even with the Thunder, while Kale Wright rounded out the attack with a power-play marker late in the middle stanza.
Brett Campbell and Brett LeGrandeur had the goals for the Thunder, which got 41 saves from netminder Jackson Little.
