AIRDRIE – Six different scorers found the back of the net in the first period as the Airdrie Thunder skated to a 6-1 win over the Mountainview Colts in Game 1 of their best-of-seven North Division Final series.
Rylan Plante-Crough led all skaters with three points, all assists, while Jordan McConnell and Tristan Paquette each had a goal and assist.
Brett LeGrandeur, Jason Wenzel, Brett Campbell and Tyler Petrie rounded out the scoring for the Thunder, while Jackson Little made 27 saves between the pipes.
Zane Leatherdale scored the lone goal for the Colts.
