MEDICINE HAT – Jared Bainbridge and Jason Creighton each found the back of the net twice as the Coaldale Copperheads skated to a 6-1 victory over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Monday night, taking a 3-1 lead in their best-of-seven South Division semifinal series.
Brant Mack and Jayden Smith rounded out the scoring for the Copperheads, which held leads of 3-1 after 20 minutes and 5-1 going into the final frame.
Nolan Berner made 29 saves between the pipes, as Levi Schlosser was the lone Cubs skater to get the puck past him.
Coaldale will look to close out the series on home ice Wednesday night. Game 5 of the series is slated for a 7:45pm puck drop.
