Generals take commanding series lead over Bisons

OKOTOKS – Harry Osler scored the go-ahead goal with 3:28 left in regulation as the Cochrane Generals were 3-2 winners over the Okotoks Bisons on Sunday afternoon, taking a commanding 3-0 lead in their best-of-seven South Division semifinal series in the process.

Braden Bain opened the scoring with 1:02 left in the first period, giving the Generals the 1-0 lead, however Connor Taylor would knot things back up for the Bisons midway through the middle stanza with the lone goal of the frame.

Takuro Okada restored the Generals lead just past the five-minute mark of the third period, but Nicolas Lush would quickly reply for the Bisons.

Erik Garber made 42 saves between the pipes for the Generals, which have won all three games by just one goal, including two overtime games.

Devin Reagan turned aside 32-of-35 shots in the loss for Okotoks.

The Generals can close out the series in Okotoks on Tuesday. Puck drop from Murray Arena is slated for 7:30pm
