Vipers one win away from North Division Final

RED DEER – The Red Deer Vipers are one win away from advancing to the North Division Final as they held on for a 4-3 win over the Mountainview Colts in Game 3 of their best-of-seven North Division semifinal series on Saturday night.

Ethan Schlag, Keaton Sawicki, Cody Jackson and Ryan Vandervlis each found the back of the net for the Vipers, which trailed 3-2 before Jackson was able to find the equalizer midway through the final frame. Vandervlis put the Vipers out in front less than two minutes later.

Zane Leatherdale had two of the goals for the Colts, while Bryce Gray netted the other.

Justin Anderson recorded the win in net for Red Deer, making 24 saves on the night.

The Vipers can advance to the HJHL North Division Final with a win in Game 4 on Monday. Puck drop from the Didsbury Recreation Complex is slated for 8:00pm.
