Generals make it back-to-back OT victories

COCHRANE – Ben Davison was the overtime hero as the Cochrane Generals knocked off the Okotoks Bisons by a score of 3-2 on Saturday, giving them a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven South Division semifinal series.

Coming off a two-goal performance in Game 1, Jordan Fisher was at it again in Game 2, scoring twice in the first period, which gave Cochrane a 2-0 lead, which they would hang on to until the third period.

Connor Taylor got Okotoks on the board 8:17 into the third period, while Kody Briggs found the equalizer on a shorthanded effort with 3:33 remaining in regulation.

Erik Garber collected the win between the pipes, stopping 34-of-36 shots faced, while Bisons’ goaltender Devin Reagan was also solid in net, stopping 36-of-39 shots faced in the loss.

Game 3 of the series goes Sunday in Okotoks. Puck drop from Murray Arena is slated for 1:15pm.
