AIRDRIE -- Four different players found the back of the net for the Airdrie Thunder as they edged the Blackfalds Wranglers by a 4-3 score in Game 1 of their best-of-seven North Division semifinal series.
Jason Wenzel opened the scoring with the lone goal of the first period seven minutes into the game, while Rylan Plante-Crough, Tyler Petrie and Cooper Page rounded out the Thunder attack.
Tyler Bell scored twice for the Wranglers, while Austin Lightning added the other.
Jackson Little recorded the win between the pipes, stopping 28 shots on the night, while Danyon Lorencz suffered the loss, making 51 saves along the way.
Game 2 of the series goes Thursday night in Blackfalds at 8:00pm.
