Quade Cassidy of the Stettler Lightning has been named the Heritage Junior Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending on January 20, 2019.
Cassidy, 20, led all HJHL skaters with 11 points (6-5-11) in four games this past week. The Stettler, Alta. product began the week with a two-goal, three-assist performance in a win over Ponoka on Tuesday and followed that up with a three-point (1-2-3) game against the same Ponoka team 24 hours later. On Friday, Cassidy had one goal in a loss to Airdrie, then on Sunday scored both his teams’ goals in a shootout loss to Okotoks.
The 5-foot-10 forward has accumulated 39 points (18-21-39) in 29 games so far this season.
