Home ice advantage was on full display Friday night across the HJHL, as all five home teams picked up valuable two points.

Medicine Hat Cubs (3) – Lomond Lakers (2)

MEDICINE HAT – Chandler Aleman factored in on all three goals as the Medicine Hat Cubs held on for a 3-2 win over the Lomond Lakers.

Aleman scored twice and picked up an assist on Noah Irvine’s late second period tally that would prove to be the game winner.

Brett Vanderveer turned aside 22-of-24 shots faced in the Medicine Hat (15-13-3) crease.

Christian Dees and Wacy Sandum had the goals for the Lakers (5-26-0), which got a 51-save performance from netminder Brady Newton.

Okotoks Bisons (2) – High River Flyers (0)

OKOTOKS – Devin Reagan stopped all 22 shots he faced to record his league-leading fifth shutout of the season as the Okotoks Bisons blanked the High River Flyers by a 2-0 score.

Nicholas Murrell opened the scoring 2:41 into the game, then made it a 2-0 Okotoks (22-7-3) lead midway through the second period and that would be all the offence the game would see.

Chantz Vinck turned aside 38 of the 40 shots he faced in the High River (10-19-4) crease.

Strathmore Wheatland Kings (5) – Blackfalds Wranglers (1)

STRATHMORE – Cole Busslinger found the back of the net twice as the Strathmore Wheatland Kings skated to a 5-1 victory over the Blackfalds Wranglers.

Lucas Muenchrath added a goal and assist, while Cody Caron and Rylee Hebert each netted a single.

Brett Willan recorded win number seven on the season between the pipes for the Wheatland Kings (15-14-2), making 31 saves along the way.

Jared Elliot turned aside 25 shots in a losing effort for the Wranglers (9-17-5), while Dylan Scheunert added his sixth goal of the season.

Airdrie Thunder (6) – Stettler Lightning (2)

AIRDRIE – Tristan Paquette and Rylan Plante-Crough each found the back of the net twice, propelling the Airdrie Thunder to a 6-2 win over the Stettler Lightning.

Jason Wenzel and Cooper Page rounded out the scoring for the Thunder (31-2-0), each netting a goal and assist, while Jordan McConnell added to his HJHL scoring lead with three assists.

Jackson Little made 36 saves between the pipes to register the win.

Quade Cassidy and Erik Rost provided the offence for Stettler (15-11-5), while Indiana Kelly turned aside 36 shots between the pipes.

Mountainview Colts (8) – Three Hills Thrashers (2)

DIDSBURY – Three different players had multi-goal games as the Mountainview Colts prevailed with an 8-2 win over the Three Hills Trashers.

Wyatt Gelinas and Alan Klinck each finished with two goals and one assist, while Sam Kolke also added a pair of tallies to the scoreboard for the Colts (19-11-2).

Travis Gerrard and Josh Gette rounded out the offensive attack, while Griffin Andrews finished with 16 saves between the pipes.

Reid Money was solid between the pipes for the Thrashers (1-29-1), stopping a whopping 71 shots in the game, while Kevin Schrock had both Three Hills goals.
