HJHL Roundup: November 11

Coaldale and Cochrane each skated away with victories on a two-game Sunday in the HJHL.

Cochrane Generals (4) – Lomond Lakers (1)

CLARESHOLM – Harry Osler scored twice as the Cochrane Generals were 4-1 winners over the Lomond Lakers on Sunday.

Jordan Marks and Braden Bain rounded out the scoring for Cochrane (8-4-1), which got 26 saves from netminder Knute Loe.

Kyle Fry scored the lone goal of the game for the Lakers (5-11-0), while Theo Paskuski suffered the loss between the pipes, stopping 34 shots along the way.

Coaldale Copperheads (8) – Three Hills Thrashers (1)

COALDALE – The Coaldale Copperheads scored four times in the opening period and didn’t look back en route to an 8-1 win over the Three Hills Thrashers on Sunday afternoon.

Jared Bainbridge and Jayden Smith each found the back of the net twice for the Copperheads (11-2-2), while Jayden Bexte led all skaters with four points, scoring once and setting up three more.

Brant Mack, Brandyn Howg and Tyler Anderson rounded out the scoring, while Isiah Day Chief chipped in with three helpers.

Broc Merkl made 17 saves in the Coaldale crease, registering his fifth win of the season in the process.

Sam Vanderstoop had the lone goal for Three Hills (1-13-0), which got 41 saves out of netminder Devon Carroll.
