Coaldale, High River, Red Deer and Stettler each picked up two points on Saturday night in the HJHL.
Coaldale Copperheads (5) – Mountainview Colts (3)
COALDALE – Ty Abbott’s power-play marker late in the second period proved to be the winner as the Coaldale Copperheads skated to a 5-3 win over the Mountainview Colts.
Sam Rousseau, Tyler Anderson, Brandyn Howg and Jared Bainbridge also found the back of the net for the Copperheads (9-1-2), which held a 4-1 lead after 40 minutes and 5-1 lead midway through the final frame before the Colts (8-4-0) would cut the lead down to just two.
Alan Klinck scored twice for Mountainview, the second coming with 4:54 remaining in the third period to cut the deficit to 5-3.
Trey Wallace had the other goal for the Colts, which got 37 saves from Ethan Woodward.
Nolan Berner stopped 31-of-34 shots fired his way to record the win in the Copperheads crease, his fifth win of the season.
Stettler Lightning (6) – Lomond Lakers (1)
CLARESHOLM – A three-goal, one-assist effort off the stick of Kieran Rost propelled the Stettler Lightning to their third straight victory as they defeated the Lomond Lakers by a score of 6-1.
Erik Rost added a pair of goals for the Lightning (5-6-0), while Tye Mulgrove rounded out the scoring with a goal and assist.
Indiana Kelly kicked-aside 29-of-30 shots fired his way to register his second win of the season.
Red Deer Vipers (7) – Ponoka Stampeders (1)
RED DEER – The Red Deer Vipers found the back of the net five times in the opening frame and then didn’t look back as they were 7-1 winners over the Ponoka Stampeders.
Jacksyn Goodall led the offensive charge with a two-goal night, while Connor Sullivan and Tristyn Zarubiak each added a goal and assist.
Tyrees Goodrunning, Mack Differenz and Cody Jackson rounded out the scoring for the Vipers (8-5-1), which have now won three straight.
Justin Travis made 18 saves to record his third win of the season in the Red Deer crease.
Ryan Harder scored the lone goal of the game for Ponoka (2-6-2).
High River Flyers (8) – Three Hills Thrashers (0)
THREE HILLS – Jakob Jeffries had a five-point night as the High River Flyers rolled to an 8-0 win over the Three Hills Thrashers.
Jeffries scored once and setup four others, while goaltender Chantz Vinck stopped all 27 shots he faced to resister his fourth win and second shutout of the season.
Mitchell Bosch chipped in with a pair of goals for the Flyers (5-9-2), while Tyler Alger added a goal and three helpers.
Brennan McPherson, with a goal and two assists, Zachary Mott, Taylor Clark and Chase Groeneveld rounded out the scoring for High River, which found the back of the net four times in the opening frame and four times in the final frame.
