Tavin Straub of the Medicine Hat Cubs has been named the Heritage Junior Hockey League Player of the Week for the week ending on October 21, 2018.
Straub, 19, recorded four goals and four assists in three games this past week, helping his team to a perfect 3-0-0 record in that span.
The Medicine Hat, Alta. product began the week by scoring the game-winner and adding three assists in a win over Cochrane, and then added one assist in a win over Mountainview the following evening.
Straub closed out the week with a three-goal, one assist performance in a victory over Blackfalds on Sunday, a game that saw him force overtime with 35 seconds remaining in regulation.
The 5-foot-10 forward now has nine points (5-4-9) in 10 games this season.
