Home teams put on a show for their fans on Saturday night, as only one visiting team was able to pick up two points on a busy Saturday night.

Stettler Lightning (3) – Coaldale Copperheads (2)

STETTLER – Rylee Jacobson scored the game-winner in the second round of the shootout to give the Stettler Lightning a 3-2 victory over the Coaldale Copperheads.

The Lightning (3-6-0) trailed 2-1 late in the third period before Erik Rost forced overtime with just 11 seconds remaining in regulation.

Logan Spady had the other Stettler goal, while Indiana Kelly turned aside 38-of-40 shots fired his way, as well as all three attempts he faced in the shootout.

Nolan Berner finished with 19 saves for Coaldale (7-1-2), which got tallies from Jared Bainbridge and Jedd Horvath.

Medicine Hat Cubs (4) – Mountainview Colts (1)

MEDICINE HAT – A three-goal performance off the stick of Desmond Howard propelled the Medicine Hat Cubs to a 4-1 win over the Mountainview Colts.

Crawford scored twice in the first period to give the Cubs (3-4-2) a 2-1 lead after 20 minutes, while Logan Robertson extended the lead with the lone goal of the middle stanza.

Crawford added his third of the night with three seconds left into an empty net.

Brett Vanderveer had his best outing of the season in the Medicine Hat crease, stopping 37-of-38 shots on the night.

Griffin Andrews made 32 saves for the Colts (7-3-0), while Sam Kolke had their lone goal.

Red Deer Vipers (6) – High River Flyers (2)

RED DEER – Tyrees Goodrunning and Justin Paarup each scored twice as the Red Deer Vipers skated to a 6-2 victory over the High River Flyers.

Mack Differenz led all skaters with four points, scoring once and setting up three others, while Keenan Smith rounded out the scoring for Red Deer (5-3-0).

Justin Anderson stopped 21-of-23 shots faced to improve to 4-1-0 between the pipes for the Vipers this season.

Tyler Alger and Payton Silvester each found the back of the net for the Flyers (4-6-2), which got 35 saves from netminder Chantz Vinck.

Cochrane Generals (15) – Three Hills Thrashers (1)

COCHRANE – Eleven different skaters found the back of the net for the Cochrane Generals as they cruised to a 15-1 win over the Three Hills Thrashers.

Benjamin Davison, Ryan Davis, Harry Osler and Caden Chudleigh each finished with two goals on the night, while Jordan Fisher had a game-high seven points, scoring once and adding six assists.

Zach Cugnet, Scott Shugg, Chris Sambrook, Sam Norris, Braden Bain and Vance Wesley rounded out the Cochrane (3-4-0) scoring.

Knute Loe made 12 saves to record the win in net.

Ethan Trampuh had the lone goal for Three Hills (0-7-0).

Airdrie Thunder (15) – Lomond Lakers (1)

CLARESHOLM – Dane Bennett-Nimijean and Cooper Page each had a hat trick as the Airdrie Thunder rolled to their 11th straight victory, knocking off the Lomond Lakers by a 15-1 score.

Jordan McConnell extended his lead on the HJHL scoring race with a five-point night, scoring twice and adding three helpers, while Brayden Dunn also found the back of the net twice or the Thunder (11-0-0).

Jason Wenzel, Kirkland Spencer, Caleb Reed, Brett Campbell and Rylan Plante-Crough rounded out the scoring.

Jackson Little made 18 saves in the Airdrie crease.

Tyler Rohl had the lone goal for Lomond (3-5-0).
