The Bisons continue to roll along, winning their sixth straight game, while the Copperheads won a shootout thriller in Blackfalds.

Coaldale Copperheads (5) – Blackfalds Wranglers (4)

BLACKFALDS – Ty Abbott scored the lone goal of the shootout as the Coaldale Copperheads edged the Blackfalds Wranglers 5-4.

Four different skaters found the back of the net in regulation for the Copperheads (3-1-0), while Broc Merkl stopped 25-of-29 shots fired his way.

The Wranglers were led by Braden Olsen, who scored once and setup two others, while goaltender Kaleb Virgo was solid between the pipes, stopping 43-of-47 shots faced.

Austin Lawson, Spencer Otto and Bronson Spearing rounded out the scoring.

Okotoks Bisons (8) – Medicine Hat Cubs (0)

OKOTOKS – After a scoreless opening period, the Okotoks Bisons offence exploded for four goals in each of the last two periods to skate to their league-best sixth straight victory as they blanked the Medicine Hat Cubs by an 8-0 score.

Kody Briggs led the way a natural hat trick in the third period, while teammate Brandt Black found the back of the net twice for the Bisons (6-0-0).

Nicholas Ewanchuk made 20 saves between the pipes to record the shutout.

Nicholas Murrell finished with three points on the afternoon, adding a goal and two assists, while Devon Marlow and Austin O’Bray each added a single.
