It was a wild one between the Lightning and Cubs in the lone game Sunday.
Stettler Lightning (8) – Medicine Hat Cubs (6)
STETTLER – Trailing 5-2 midway through the middle stanza, the Stettler Lightning came all the way back and then some as they took an 8-6 win over the Medicine Hat Cubs on Sunday afternoon.
The Lightning (1-1-0) scored the last five goals of the game, including three power-play markers in the final frame.
Matt Sylvester led the way with three goals and two assists, while Rylee Jacobson and Jonathan Fournier each finished with a goal and two helpers.
Justin Fournier, Reagan Holmes and Kieran Rost rounded out the scoring for Stettler, which got 50 saves from netminder Davin Nattestad.
Chandler Aleman had two goals for the Cubs (1-1-0), while Joshua Schafer, Alex Duclos, Fletcher Aleman and Cooper Hilworth added the others.
