Paskuski, Copperheads take 2-0 series lead

Sam Paskuski scored twice and setup one more as the Coaldale Copperheads now have a 2-0 lead in their best-of-seven South Division final series with the Okotoks Bisons after a 6-1 win on Friday night.

Mitchell Konshuk, Calvin Swanson and Tyler Anderson each scored in the opening frame for the Copperheads, giving them a 3-1 lead after 20 minutes, while Paskuski would tack on his first of the game in the middle stanza to make it a 4-1 game after two periods.

Paskuski’s second of the night, and a tally from Jayden Bexte, put the game out of reach in the third period.

Tyler Bordt scored the lone goal of the game for the Bisons.

Nolan Berner was solid between the pipes for Coaldale, stopping 39-of-40 shots faced.

The Bisons got 42 saves from a busy Devin Reagan.

The Copperheads look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead on home ice Saturday evening. Puck drop is at 8:30pm.
