Coaldale comeback gives them 1-0 series lead

A four-goal third period fueled the comeback as the Coaldale Copperheads took Game 1 of their best-of-seven South Division final series with the Okotoks Bisons by a score of 5-2 on Wednesday.

Trailing 2-0 late in the second period, Levi Anderson got the Copperheads on the board with a shorthanded marker, then found the equalizer on the man-advantage early in the third period.

Clayton Nevil added another power-play marker for Coaldale less than one minute later, while Calvin Swanson and Jayden Bexte added insurance markers late in the frame.

Kyle Harrison tallied both goals for the Bisons, which were outshout 52-32 on the evening.

Nolan Berner recorded the victory in the Coaldale crease, stopping 30-of-32 shots on the night, while Devin Reagan was busy in the Okotoks net, making 48 saves in the loss.

Game 2 of the series shifts back to Okotoks on Saturday night at 8:00pm.
